The Shed is a new kind of cultural institution committed to producing and presenting original works of art across all disciplines for all audiences. Its unique telescoping movable outer shell allows it to expand and transform for different types of performances, exhibitions, and events, from large-scale spectacles to intimate gatherings.

Permanent Collection

The Shed does not maintain a permanent collection, instead commissioning new works across art, music, performance, film, and design from artists working in all disciplines. Each commission is developed specifically for The Shed's unique spaces, including the vast McCourt performance hall and the intimate Griffin Theater.
