Old Stone House

The Old Stone House is a reconstruction of a 1699 Dutch farmhouse that played a pivotal role in the Battle of Brooklyn during the American Revolution in 1776, where Maryland soldiers made a heroic stand that allowed George Washington's army to escape. Today it serves as an interpretive historic site and community space in J.J. Byrne Memorial Park.

Permanent Collection

The museum presents permanent and rotating exhibitions on the Battle of Brooklyn, Dutch colonial history, and the evolution of the surrounding neighborhood from farmland to urban park. Interpretive displays use maps, artifacts, and multimedia to bring the Revolutionary War story to life.
