General Grant National Memorial, known as Grant's Tomb, is the largest mausoleum in North America and the final resting place of President Ulysses S. Grant and his wife Julia, drawing over 90,000 visitors annually to its neoclassical granite structure along Riverside Drive. Completed in 1897, it was the largest public fundraising effort in U.S. history at the time, funded by 90,000 citizens.

Permanent Collection

The memorial presents exhibitions on Ulysses S. Grant's life as a Civil War general and 18th President, featuring military artifacts, personal memorabilia, and historic photographs. The magnificent domed rotunda houses the twin sarcophagi of Grant and his wife Julia.
