Federal Hall National Memorial
Federal Hall National Memorial stands on the site of the original Federal Hall, where George Washington took the oath of office as the first President of the United States in 1789 and the first Congress convened. The current Greek Revival building, completed in 1842, is one of the finest examples of 19th-century civic architecture in New York City.
