Brooklyn Botanic Garden

Brooklyn Botanic Garden is a 52-acre urban oasis featuring world-class plant collections, including one of the largest collections of cherry trees outside Japan, drawing hundreds of thousands of visitors each spring for Sakura Matsuri, its annual Japanese blossom festival. Founded in 1910, the garden also maintains research collections, a renowned horticultural library, and extensive education programs.

Permanent Collection

The garden's collections include over 14,000 plant taxa in specialty gardens ranging from a Japanese Hill-and-Pond Garden to a fragrance garden for visitors with visual impairments. The Cherry Esplanade contains the greatest concentration of Japanese cherry trees in the BBG, peaking in late April.
