The American Museum of Natural History is one of the largest natural history museums in the world, with a permanent collection of over 34 million specimens and cultural artifacts, and a research library of half a million volumes. The museum encompasses 45 permanent exhibition halls and is home to the Rose Center for Earth and Space with its iconic Hayden Planetarium.

The AMNH's vast holdings span biological and anthropological sciences, with world-class collections of meteorites, dinosaur fossils, and cultural artifacts from indigenous peoples around the globe. The Hall of Ocean Life, Hall of the Universe, and the fossil halls containing the most complete T. rex skeleton ever found are among the museum's most celebrated attractions.
